How to write e-mails in PBEM

May the merciful Gods, if indeed there be such, guard those hours when no power of the will, or drug that the cunning of man devises, can keep me from the chasms of sleep. death is merciful, for there is no return therefrom; but with him who has come back out of the nethermost chambers of night, haggard and knowing, peace rests nevermore.
H.P.Lovecraft.

Here are examples how to write and send your E-mails.

The subject line for your posts should contain your character's name in brackets and a fitting desription of the post (who you are talking to, or where you are perhaps). Example: Cthulhu PBEM:[John] Talking to the police officers... Example 1. General talking between investigators:

Bob:
*Bob lights a cigaret and turns to Jane*
"I have bad feeling about this all"

Jane:
*I smile to Bob*
"you should stop smoking"

USE ** FOR ACTION AND "" FOR TALK
YOU CAN USE YOUR INVESTIGATOR NAME AS BOB OR TALK AS JANE

Example 2. One to one talking between investigators:

Remember to send the mail to the Keeper (Game master) and to the player who are at the scene.

Use the REPLY TO ALL in your e-mail, when replying to e-mails.

Example 3.Talking between group of investigators:

When you know you are in a group and your actions will be seen to all and your words can be hear by everyone.
Include everyone in the scene to your mail. Use the REPLY TO ALL when replying (just remember to check that you got all the right people in your sent to and CC fields.

Tags
--(RESPONSE)-- If you want someone to answer or reply to your character's comments or questions.
Example: --(RESPONSE -Police officer)-- or --(RESPONCE -John, Anikim, and Police officer)--

--(RESULT)-- When you are stating that your character is trying to do something special, that requires a result from the GM. For instance if you have described that your character is looking for secret doors in the cellar - you would insert --(RESULT)-- at the end of that paragraph.

--(DESCRIPTION)-- If you would like the GM to describe something, whether it is a room, a person, a landscape or something else.
Example:
John:
*John looks around the room.* --(DESCRIPTION)--

If you are waiting for some other character to do something, you can use the --(?ACTION?)-- tag. This will most often be used by the GM - in the meaning "What do you do now?". If you see --(!ACTION!)-- from the GM, it means that it is important that you do something really really quick... You can add the name inside the tag like earlier --(?ACTION? -john)--

Another important tag is --(SNIP)-- and --(/SNIP)--. When you reply to someone's posts, you will most often have the opportunity to remove parts of their text, so everyone doesn't have to read it all again, when reading your post. Leave only the essential parts that you are replying to. The parts you shortened have --(SNIP)--, before them and --(/SNIP)--, after them, signalizing that you have "snipped" something there.

Use OOC: or OOG: when talking out of character or game...

The most important thing is to remember to send everything to the Keeper (that's me) also.
