Powers of Ynni:

Where the hell is this world going to? asked the Travelling halfling from him self. He knew the truth, he had been there when it all happened, but still it was hard to understand. The halfling continued walking not caring about the freezing wind and the howling of the demons closeby...

The powers in world of Ynni are mixture of Cthulhu mythos by H.P. Lovecraft, Glorantha pantheon in Rune quest and some of my own imagination.

Azathoth

"The unknown, being likewise the unpredictable, became for our primitive forefathers a terrible and omnipotent source of boons and calamities visited upon mankind for cryptic and wholly extraterrestrial reasons, and thus clearly belonging to spheres of existence whereof we know nothing and wherein we have no part."

-H.P.Lovecraft.

Lives in the center of the universe. Where it should stay. Azathoth is mindless mass of nuclear chaos.

Cthulhu

"...There is no language for...such eldritch contradictions of all, matter, force, and cosmic order. A mountain walked or stumbled.... (The) spawn of the stars had awakened to claim his own. The stars were right again."

-H.P.Lovecraft.

Lives on the other side of the planet. Cthulhu sleep's and waits for the stars to be right.

Dragemages

They are called dragemages or dragonlords. Two of the Dragonlords are known to be most powerful. Elmer the golden one lives near Belneria jungles in his castle with powerful allies. Ice maiden Marelin lives in her own islands far north.

Graag

Avatar of Nyarlathothep

Graag is a god or a independent creature from another plane. He is the messanger of many evil and alien gods that are not from Ynni. Graag is dark skinned 30' long monster with large glowing eyes. Main worship area is eastern jungles the area called Belneria. Priests of Graag wear black robes with large yellow eye in back.

Kukkiva Tölli

They are everywhere. The larges chain of inns and taverns in Ynni. there are stories that Kukkiva Tölli is multiplanar. Who is behind this all?

Ithaqua

The wendigo

"...inconceivable abnormalities slyly hinted into a horrible half-knowledge by words whose innocence we scarely doubt till the cracked tension of the speaker's hollow voice bids us fear..."

-H.P.Lovecraft.

Oracle

There is ancient oracle living in the Snake island in Empire. She has many times foretold great events of Ynni.

Shub-Niggurath

"Iä! Iä! Shub-Niggurath! The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young!"

-H.P.Lovecraft

Worshiped extensively, she may have connections with druids and similar groups. Worshipers of Shub-Niggurath generally form into gangs or congregations, as do Cthulhu's cultists. Her emissaries and stand-ins, the dark young, may represent the aid she grants worshipers. She is often summoned specifically to accept sacrifices. Shub-Niggurath can be dismissed by those who know her summoning spell, and it is possible to hurt her enough to make her leave. In one of her few descriptions, Shub-Niggurath is said to be an enormous cloudy mass. This mass doubtless boils and festers. It is likely that of the mist coalesce at times, forming horrendous body parts, ropy black tentacles, slime- dripping mouths, or short writhing legs, ending in black hooves which may account for the titular reference to 'goat.' When she arrives, she may bud off dark young. Her milk may have remarkable properties.

Star

The cult of

Almost no one knows where this cult is from or where is their base, and if someone knows he knows only as long as the cult wants. The cult trains assasins, fighters and mages. Rumour tells that the home of the cult is star shaped. The assasins of the cult have been seen everywhere in Ynni and are used by almost every power that has needs for assasins. The sign of the cult is silver star.

Travelling man

There is a strange man walking around Ynni, he is said to be somekind god or halfgod. He wears simple clothes and likes to tell sad stories from past. He has been told to give great gifts to those who please him. A powerful magician he is, that is known.

Väinämö

The church of

Väinämö is the god of knowledge and has worshippers only in civilized areas. The worshippers have divided into three different sects.

THE EMPIREAN CHURCH OF KNOWLEDGE.
This cult died with the fall of humans in south in the great darkness. It's origin was from Old Empire but it grew to all southern areas of Ynni. The church owned many ancient writings and artifacts, but was corrupted and weakened. The wars fought by Empirean troops divited the original church so that some of the more peaceful priest left the church.

THOUSAND KINGDOMS CHURCH OF VÄINÄMÖ.
Left original church in the golden days of Old Empire. Is now important source of knowledge in more peaceful area of Thousand Kingdoms.

BROTHERHOOD OF SAGES.
Youngest branch of the Väinämö church. They are working in northern areas of Ynni. The Mother church is in Dalfan.
