The Midwaste

The Midwaste is that region of what used to be the United States between the Rocky Mountains and the Mispi (Mississippi) River. Once the industrial and agricultural heart of the North American continent, in 2501 it is a patchwork of burnt-out urban sprawls, radioactive craters, and "natural" wilderness that has evolved and spread in the centuries since the Apocalypse. Most True Men and Mutants living here have some knowledge of the Midwaste from before the Apocalypse; Mutated Animals and Mutated Plants generally have less or none whatsoever. Nevertheless, many place names, attitudes, and customs which once defined the region have survived to some extent in the present.
