I read a lot of fic. Since archiving isn't my style, I've decided that things I read that I consider to be the best of the best (I.E., anything that you'll like, regardless of fandom or type of fic) will get linked to from here. I'll give you a brief synopsis and say why I liked it. You can judge from there.

Updates
June 15th, 2003 : Added The Syntax of Things, No Easy Way Down

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The Syntax of Things
Kyra Cullinan
This is a very touching piece that makes the paring of Dawn and Anya seem almost possible. This was originally Recced by Mosca on Homoneurotica (check the links page).

Farscape

No Easy Way Down
Mosca
This is the best hetsmut I've read in a while. Very good at bringing the alienness to the John/Aeryn relationship.

Harry Potter

We Are the Night
Kite - Archived on Fanfiction.net
Kite's work is amazing. This story is the first Original Character piece I've ever truely enjoyed. He really makes you like his character, Lili. It's about a young Slytherin who gets pulled into Voldemort's embrace. Very, very touching. Read this, and it's sequel, "Moutains are Tall, Rivers are Long."

Requited
FayJay - Archived on Silverlake
This is an excellent short from Snape's POV. You'll never look at Harry's mom in quite the same way again.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Take A Breath, City
Zara Hemla - Archived on Silverlake
Zara wrote this in response to 9/11. This is one of the most touching pieces I've ever read. The turtles muse over the city's continued existence, without the twin towers.

X-Men

The Medicine Wheel
Okay, this is a link to another author's site. I'm not going to tell you which of her stories to read, because you should read them ALL. Minisinoo is, possibly, the greatest fic writer I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. My favorites, out of what she's written, are "Climb the Wind" and "Letters and Papers from Prison." Although, I also truely love her Ororo/Scott storyline based on the Ultimate-X comics (but it's unfinished, so don't read it unless you want to cry over the lack of closure).
