The Amethyst-Alliance International Roleplaying Guild (hereafter known as the Amethyst-Alliance) is an online club for gamers of all kinds (but mostly roleplayers). Within the member's section you'll find message boards dedicated to your favorite games, chat rooms to use for your own online sessions, tools, articles, and lots of nice people. As if that wasn't enough to get you to join, you've also got a ten megabyte limit for a website of your own design. Anything goes as long as it's RPG related in some way, and there are NO STRINGS ATTATCHED. You've just got to put up a small "hosted by" banner on the main page somewhere. That's it. You've also got the opportunity to become a staff member. If you see that your favorite game doesn't have a forum, apply to be that game's specialist. Maybe you're interested in proofreading or writing for an online newsletter? Check out the Amethyst-Circle, the official Amethyst-Alliance newsletter. Want to run online games? Join the Online-Gaming department! Have an idea for something that's been overlooked? Run it by the executives! It's all possible! Now, in case you're wondering what my affiliation with these guys are, I'll tell you a little about my job at the Amethyst-Alliance. I'm an executive staff member. I'm currently leading the Academy department (which is dedicated to teaching how to roleplay, lending support to veterans and the like) and the creation of a MUD (it will be multi-genre [hopefully] and will based on the Nameless Sorrows MUDlib). I also run the Changeling: The Dreaming forums and write for the Amethyst-Circle. That being said, I hope you'll check it out. It's really worth while, if you ask me.
