Transport Vehicles

Urban Transport Van

At first glance, this transport looks like a perfectly normal black van, one that anyone could buy for themselves, but one glance at the schematics would change that view. The outside of the van is armored, enough so to deflect most projectile weapons and light energy weapons. The cockpit of the van seats two, but has no steering controls, instead driven by an advanced computer system. The back of the van is windowless and pitch-black when the lights are turned off, and the entire inside of the van (Front and back) can be made airtight with a simple command to the computer, a feature that has saved many operatives from chemical weapons. The roof can be equppied with a turret and a variety of attachments and/or weapons.

The van uses Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells, which absorb energy from any available source, including heat, light, air movement, microwave, radiation, and even from attacking projectile and energy weapons. The rear compartment has room for about 5-10 people, or up to 4 standard field robots.

Max Speed: 120mph
Fuel: Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells
Armor: Light
Capacity: 4-11
Weaponry (Default): None

Class I Armored Transport

Unlike the urban transport van, this vehicle makes no move to hide its purpose. It rolls along on three axles, sporting more of a trapezoid shape when viewed from the side. The only entrance to the vehicle is the back wall, which can hinge open upward under hydraulic power in about 1.2 seconds.

The armor is also much heavier than the urban van, able to deflect all but the most powerful projectile weapons, and light to mid-level energy weapons. There is a one-foot horizontal slit running across the front of the van, heavily forcefielded, serving as an external for the driver. The cockpit sports seating for a driver and gunner, to be used in combat situations only, when the computerized systems are not sufficient. On the roof is one continuous-laser 360-degree turret, controllable via automatic systems or the gunner controls.

Max Speed: 90mph
Fuel: Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells
Armor: Light/Medium
Capacity: 14/17
Weaponry (Default): 1 Turret - Beam Laser - 360 degree Fire-Angle

Class II Armored Transport

This transport wheels along on four axles with offroad-capable tires. The shape is similar to the Class I transport, designed primarily for light-resistance deployment. The roof sports a double-barreled turret, and the outside armor is slightly stronger than the Class I, able to easily absorb mid-level energy weapons. It is a bit larger, and therefore accomodates more crew at the cost of speed and maneuverability.

Max Speed: 75mph
Fuel: Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells
Armor: Medium
Capacity: 22-26
Weaponry (Default): 1 Turret - 2 Beam Lasers - 360 degree Fire-Angle

Class III High-Capacity Transport

This transport comes in the form of a tractor-trailer, sporting 3 axles on the cab (1 in front, 2 in back) and 4 on the trailer (2 in front, 2 in back). Each axle consists of four armored wheels, capable of automatic inflation/deflation to allow better traction or higher speed. The cab is VERY heavily armored, shaped like its 20th-century predecessor with a flat vertical front. The entire cab is made up to look like a harmless cargo cab, but the windows and grille are false, merely there to hide the armor and power within. The primary purpose of this armor is a ramming-attack, where the transport would forcibly bash its way through the front entrance of a large enemy compound, then deploy its passengers.

The trailer deploys by dividing the ceiling in half lengthwise and folding down the side and back walls, a process that can be done in just over a second. The vehicle itself has no weapons, but the trailer is lightly-armored (Heavier armor would prevent rapid deployment) and can be forcefielded in extreme circumstances. The connection between cab and trailer is designed to absorb powerful shocks, enough so that even when ramming through the front gate of a complex, those in the trailer would feel no abnormal movement.

Max Speed: 110mph
Fuel: Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells
Armor: Heavy (Cab), Light (Trailer)
Capacity: 90-130
Weaponry (Default): None

Class IV High-Capacity Long-Range Transport

Ever wanted to bring an entire army to a field base? Well this is the vehicle of choice for just such a situation. This is basically a train for the road, controlled by a heavy, powerful cab the size of a transport van. This van is only lightly armored, but is designed to pull heavy loads at high-speeds with no loss of control. It can carry 4 people in relative comfort, and has manual controls to be used when computer-automation is not sufficient.

The transport part of the vehicle comes in the form of a series of trailers, each of which has a functional engine, but all of which depend on the cab for steering control. Each one sports four axles, 2 in front and 2 in back, and a series of cushioned benches organized similar to a bus (Though with no aisle), to provide some level of comfort for long trips. The trailer has lighting and atmospheric controls, and can be made airtight, and of course can have additional trailers linked behind it as necessary. It deploys like a Class III transport, the walls folding down to form ramps to the ground.

Max Speed: 90mph
Fuel: Relies on Satellite-based Microwave Beam
Armor: Light
Capacity: 4 in cab, 60 per trailer
Weaponry (Default): None

Combat Vehicles

Class I Light Combat Vehicle (Speeder Bike)

This one-man vehicle is designed for close-combat and can be deployed from a Class III or IV transport. The operative lies on his/her stomach on a slight upward slope, and views the surroundings through a display mounted below the face. Control of the vehicle is done via a brainwave-link similar to the MP-FC, and sensor data is shown as overlays on the display. The operative is surrounded on all sides by medium-strength armor, as are the two wide-tread wheels it drives on. The controls are designed for high maneuverability, and can safely perform a 180 or 360 skid with no loss of control. The outer shell is streamlined, allowing extremely-high top speeds, and the inside is air-cushioned to allow almost instant acceleration without subjecting the driver to excessive G-Forces, even in a 250mph U-turn. The front of the vehicle sports dual rapid-fire energy blasters, capable of easily destroying humans in one hit, or robots in a few shots. It is designed to face infantry units alone, but a group can be used to swarm a larger target.

Max Speed: 250mph
Fuel: Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells
Armor: Light
Capacity: 1
Weaponry (Default): 2 Front-Mounted Rapid-Fire Laser Blasters

Class II Light Combat Vehicle (Laser Bike)

This vehicle is similar to two Speeder Bikes side-by-side, and boasts all of the features of its predecessor. For enhanced offensive ability, it holds two operatives, one to drive and one to fight. The left cockpit has full control over the driving and the four front-mounted blasters. The right cockpit controls a turreted light beam-laser, designed specifically for reaction-time. It can rotate a full 360 degrees in 0.3 seconds, and has a negligible charge/discharge time. The turret works against the bike's steering, so if the driver makes a 90-degree left turn, the turret will turn 90 degrees to the right to compensate, giving the gunner a steady view, and allowing perfect aim during complex maneuvers.

Max Speed: 180mph
Fuel: Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells
Armor: Light
Capacity: 2
Weaponry (Default): 4 Front-Mounted Rapid-Fire Laser Blasters
1 Top-Mounted Turreted Light Beam-Laser

Class III Light Combat Vehicle (Stealth Bike)

The Stealth Bike is very similar to the Speeder Bike, but is solid-trueblack (No light reflection at all), and is equipped with EM and Sonic shields, making it virtually invisible to most types of scanners. The guidance system works on satellite navigation and infrared, so is perfect for night missions. The engine runs absolutely silently, the wheels themselves correcting for terrain irregularities to avoid any sound at all. Keep in mind this is NOT an offroad vehicle. It is equipped with a single front-mounted high-energy UV beam-laser, designed as a tool, not a weapon. It can be used to easily cut through a fallen tree or the wall of an enemy fortress, moving very quickly in a fine grid to nearly disintegrate an obstacle. It is, however, designed for close-range only, and temporarily makes the bike visible on certain EM scanners. The bike's stored power cells can last for approximately two hours at full speed, less if the laser is used.

Max Speed: 150mph
Fuel: Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells (Non-Stealth)
Stored Power Cells (During Stealth Operation)
Armor: Light
Capacity: 1
Weaponry (Default): 1 Front-Mounted Turreted UV Beam-Laser (Up to 30 degrees left/right/up/down from front)

Class IV Light Combat Vehicle (Road Warrior)

Meet the rebirth of the best four-wheel drive vehicle to come out of the 20th century. Yes, this is the reincarnation of the all-powerful Humvee, formerly one of the most widely used vehicles in the US Military. This version is practically a replica of its former self, after substituting the manually-operated machine-gun turret for a computer-controlled energy blaster. The Road Warrior seats two in front (Driver and Gunner), and up to 3 in the back for transport. (See www.hummer.com to get an idea of what it looks like).

Max Speed: 90mph
Fuel: Alpha-Class Regenerating Power Cells
Armor: Light
Capacity: 5
Weaponry (Default): 1 360-degree turret - High-powered Energy Blaster

Class I Heavy Combat Vehicle (Hovertank)

It moves silently across the battlefield on a cushion of air and energy. Well, silent except for the turreted 4-barrel blaster, of course. The shape vaguely resembles a 20th-century tank, but has no treads, and instead hovers about two feet from the ground. The turret is a bit slow to rotate, but packs an immense punch, fully capable of tearing through a thick titanium wall in one shot. Unfortunately, the long charge-time for this powerful weapon makes it more useful as a support vehicle, not the lancepoint of an attack force. The 4-barrel blaster takes approximately 30 seconds to charge, during which time the only offensive capabilities are the two low-power side-mounted beam-laser turrets. The inside of the tank seats four for maximum efficiency. One driver, one on each laser turret, and one man on the main blaster.

The shell of the vehicle is heavily armored, and supported with a light forcefield for added strength. Unfortunately, the heavy armor of this vehicle makes it impossible to use the standard Alpha-Class power cells, so a rechargable energy cell is required.

Max Speed: 20mph
Fuel: Stored Power Cells
Armor: Heavy, Augmented by light forcefield
Capacity: 4
Weaponry (Default): 1 360-degree turret - 4-barrel High-power Energy Blaster
2 180-degree turrets (Side-mounted) - Low-power Beam Laser

Class II Heavy Combat Vehicle (Artillery)

Enemy have air defense set up? No problem! Lob a few explosive shells right over their walls with the Artillery! It's the size of a small tank, but that's only to support the two launch-tubes that tilt up from either side. The cockpit is a single seat in the front-center, between the two cannons and depressed slightly into the vehicle to keep the pilot out of the line-of-fire. The two cannons are tilted independently, and can also rotate sideways up to 5 degrees from front while moving anywhere from 5-80 degrees up from the horizontal. Since ballistic weaponry is a bit difficult to aim, the computer takes over, calculating automatically for wind-factors to give the driver perfect targeting. Of course, for optimal efficiency, a satellite linkup is required to give the computer a top-down view of the target area. Just remember to keep this one in the back of your lines, because although those plasma balls pack a serious punch, this vehicle is not designed to survive under-fire.

Max Speed: 25mph
Fuel: Relies on Satellite-based Microwave Beam
Armor: Light
Capacity: 1
Weaponry (Default): 2 Plasma-Ball launchers.
Rotate 5 degrees from center, 5-80 up from horizontal
Expected yield - Complete incineration in 20-foot radius

Class III Heavy Combat Vehicle (Goliath)

Unless you are one of the lucky few to be employed at AgenX-Factor Central Command, you're almost guaranteed NEVER to see more than one of these in action at a time. If you're on the other side of the law, and you see one of these treading toward your house, it's time for a permanent vacation. This vehicle is shaped like a tank, but over twice the size. It boasts multiple-layered tri-titanium armor, plus a high-energy forcefield that's all but impenetrable. Since the forcefield is linked to the power cells, anything you throw at it just makes it stronger, as if the fusion-reactor isn't powerful enough! You want firepower? Well this tank has one main gun with a barrel 2-feet in diameter which puts out more energy than a nuclear reactor, enough destructive capability to completely level almost any structure. You thought a beam-laser was powerful? This one could burn a hole through a high-energy forcefield and anyone behind it, in a matter of seconds.

But just in case that wasn't enough, Goliath also sports a pair of artillery-type plasma-ball launchers (Which must be lowered to rotate the main gun), two beam-turrets on each side, an 8-barrel energy blaster mounted on front, and 12 high-energy UV-lasers right above that, designed to turn any obstruction to dust. Nothing stops Goliath from reaching its target. In case of infantry attacks, the tank can pump out a cloud of nerve gas large enough to instantly kill any humanoid within 50 feet, and if mutants are your problem, the wide-area nullifier beams can suppress all mutant powers within the same range, with a 2-hour effect.

For security reasons, the tank operates on independent systems, and cannot be remotely linked. The inside of the tank seats four operatives: One to drive and operate the front-mounted blasters and UV lasers, one to operate the main gun, and two other gunners, each operating two of the side-mounted lasers.

To avoid handing this technological marvel into enemy hands, the fusion reactor can be set to overload, creating a small nuclear explosion with a 2-mile yield.

Goliath, which moves along at its own pace on reinforced tank-treads, is designed to be airlifted to the battlefield via a special aircraft, since it moves too slow to be of much use otherwise. Make no mistake, this vehicle is designed for a single purpose. Complete destruction.

Max Speed: 10mph
Fuel: Fusion Reactor
Augmented by Secondary Nuclear Reactor
Augmented by Beta-Class Regenerating Power Cells
Armor: VERY Heavy, Augmented by high-powered Forcefield
Capacity: 4
Weaponry (Default): 8 front-mounted high-powered energy blasters
