As with Legacies, I haven't heard or seen much on the web that goes towards expanding Merits and Flaws for characters, so this is another focus of my website.
The first place to look for additional Merits/Flaws for your character is other World of Darkness sourcebooks. Of course, be sure to confer with your Storyteller for the appropriateness of the Merit/Flaw for your character. I've found that writing detailed, full backgrounds for characters, showing how the Merit/Flaw fits in, definitely helps in swaying Storyteller opinion... An example: you have a House Eiluned character that just likes to broadcast secrets he finds. The Loudmouth Flaw (Kithbook Sluagh, pg 65) is appropriate here, although I'd reduce the point value of the Flaw by one since the Sluagh's trade in secrets is slightly more important than is House Eiluned's.
A revised Flaw: two flaws from the Player's Guide (written for 1st Edition Changeling) didn't make it into 2nd Edition Changeling. The first is True Faith (Player's Guide 27), and I'll let you debate the metaphysics of that. The second is Greedy Glamour (Player's Guide 30), and that Flaw is set up to take advantage of 1st Edition's use of Bunks, making it unusable "as is" for 2nd Edition. Here's a revision: the wording and reasoning of the Flaw are still the same. For 3 points, the Difficulties to cast Cantrips are increased by one, making it far more likely that you will spend more Glamour and/or perform higher-level Bunks to cast Cantrips. For 6 points, you get the above plus you gain only one-half the Glamour others would gain (round down).
These are Merits and Flaws which I have not seen anywhere else.
Modernity (3, 5 or 7 point Merit): Only Nockers may take this Merit. You are a modern grrrl, maybe even avant-garde - both of your Birthrights can function with today's machines. For 3 points, Forge Chimera may include either chemical OR electromagnetic properties (and your Fix-It specialty must be within the same realm). For 5 points, Forge Chimera may include all modern properties short of quantum mechanics and superconduction. Shoot, for 7 points, you can have it all! Just remember, your Flaws Frailty is still in full effect, and you may not take this Merit along with any Merits which would mitigate Flaws.
Extreme Arrogance (3 point Flaw): Only Sidhe may take this Flaw. House Scathach (Nobles: The Shining Host pg 80) may not take this Flaw. Sidhe are known for their high nostrils, but you hold yours so high, the only way you'll ever see the ground is hanging by your feet! You are definitely a Traditionalist (ibid., pg 41), and see commoners as peasants, and non-European Kith as barbarians to be overcome. Even Sidhe Reformers (ibid., pg 42) are uncomfortable around you, and Sidhe Modernists (ibid., pg 43) count you among their enemies. Game mechanics: +2 Difficulty to all Social rolls involving non-Sidhe and Sidhe Modernists; +1 Difficulty to all Social rolls involving Sidhe Reformers. You are only truly at home with other Sidhe Traditionalists.
