Kendrick: Well, I'm ready when you gals are...
Jalda: *revs her engine*
Storyteller: I believe we left off with the two of you headed back to the Red Dragon, Joe in tow, Kendrick in
serious trauma over seeing his dad and your character, Kasa, having some very interesting information...
Kendrick: Yep, that sounds right.
Storyteller: Go!
Kendrick: Kendrick leads the way, still fuming about that run-in with his father...
Storyteller: Joe follows quietly, not really understanding what's going on...
Jalda: Jalda walks with Joe, her mind preoccupied with the events of the alley. She follows Kendrick without
really thinking about it.
Storyteller: When you arrive at the Red Dragon, the enormous dragon is gone. Do you go inside?
Kendrick: Kendrick walks inside automatically, too preoccupied with his own thoughts to really notice.
Storyteller: There is a familiar pounding on the floor... quickly getting closer...
Jalda: Jalda stops and looks up, wondering about the dragon before heading inside.
Kendrick: He finally looks up from his brooding...
Jalda: Jalda stops just behind Kendrick.
Storyteller: Kendrick, you see a familiar blur of red, about the size of a great Dane bound by you. The
moment you step inside, Jalda, your backside meets the floor and a large, hot tongue affectionately cleans your face
sloppily.
Storyteller: You've found the dragon.
Jalda: Jalda sputters, but doesn't resist, giggling at the feeling of being licked. The site of a troll giggling is
unnerving enough, but when a dragon's on top of said troll?
Kendrick: That surprises him! He grins, watching the dragon and Jalda with amusement. He's coming out of his
funk...
Storyteller: Finally, when your face is thoroughly cleaned, the dragon jumps off you. He turns to Kendrick, a
gleam of mischief in his eyes...
Kendrick: "Uh... yes?" Kendrick says hesitantly. He's not sure what the dragon's thinking...
Jalda: Jalda gets up and wipes her face off, tears from the laughter only just beginning to end.
Storyteller: You are pounced on. And your face is promptly cleaned.
Storyteller: (That was to K._
Storyteller: )
Kendrick: "Hey!" Kendrick struggles, but can't help but laugh...
Jalda: Jalda just watches the mischief, suddenly feeling how tired she is and not really knowing why.
Kendrick: "Okay, you! Knock it off!" Kendrick laughs.
Storyteller: The dragon is too heavy for you to push off. Waaaaay too heavy, but not crushing you. Finally,
the dragon leaps off and pads away to curl up on the rug next to the Balefire.
Kendrick: Kendrick stands, sputtering. He glances at Jalda and pulls the nearest chair up. "Care for a seat?"
Jalda: "That was certainly amusing.." Jalda comments, yawning.
Jalda: She stands and sets down next to Kendrick, her head on her arms. She sets there for a moment before
jerking up, "Oh! I nearly forgot! I can't believe I nearly forgot... Those two fae, they're after Joe. Someone's paying
them, or something."
Kendrick: He sits next to her and says, "Did you find out who they are, or who's paying them?"
Storyteller: Joe takes a seat with you both, regarding you strangely. "Is it a requirement to roll around on the
floor when you come in here?"
Kendrick: He glances down at the floor curiously, then turns to Joe. "Um... it's... hard to explain..."
Storyteller: "And why are we in an old abandoned coffeeshop, anyway?
Storyteller: "
Jalda: Jalda ignores Joe's comment and responds to Kendrick, "No, I have no idea who's paying them. Some
woman, what was her name..?" ((Uhm, you have the log handy?))
Jalda: "Meilge, that was it! I gathered she was a Sidhe."
Jalda: damn
Jalda: ((whoops
Jalda: ((Uhm, amke that he
Jalda: ((in both cases))
Jalda: "And something was said about a mask..."
Jalda: ((really needs to find her logs))
Jalda: damnit
Jalda: just ignore me while i hunt for my logs
Storyteller: (We'll take it from "And why are we in an old abandoned coffeeshop anyway?")
Storyteller: A black and grey ball of fur launches himself through the air to Kendrick's chest. It's Merlin!
Jalda: (thanks, got them)
Storyteller: (No prob.)
Kendrick: "Merlin!" He pets his little ferret lovingly. "Where have you been, ya little furball?"
Jalda: Jalda ignores Joe's comment and responds to Kendrick, "No, I have no idea who's paying them. Some
guy, Meilge, he was wearing a mask and there was some cape swooshing and a lot of shadows. I didn't hear most
of the conversation, but he definately wanted Joe."
Storyteller: Merlin trills happily, settling down on Kendrick's chest. Joe waits patiently for someone to answer
his question...
Kendrick: "Meilge?" he echoes in response to Jalda. Still petting Merlin, he says, "The name is very familiar."
Storyteller: "I know that name," Joe speaks up suddenly.
Jalda: "Who is he? A sidhe?"
Jalda: Jalda turns, shocked, to Joe.
Kendrick: Kendrick turns to Joe, surprised. "You do?!"
Storyteller: Joe frowns fiercely. "It's... I *know* it...!! I just..." he shrugs lamely. "... don't remember where
from."
Jalda: Jalda sighs and rests her head back on her arms, "What now? Who's Meilge?"
Jalda: ((god i feel lame today. i don't know why i'm so not-cool-roleplaying
Kendrick: "Meilge is indeed a sidhe," Kendrick says to Jalda. "He's also the one we suspect in connection to the
High King's disappearance."
Storyteller: Joe perks up interestedly. "You know a king?"
Jalda: Oh no, what have I gotten myeslf into? Jalda thinks. She groans and stretches, her form lengthening in
her chair, "Well, let's nail him then. Maybe we can get Joe's real persona back."
Storyteller: Confusion crosses Joe's face, but he doesn't ask.
Kendrick: He glances at Joe and says to Jalda, "It's not that simple. We don't really know he's behind it. We
have a strong suspicion, but no proof."

Jalda: ((points at herself and says, "Lame, lame, lame"
Jalda: "Suspicion is the guiding hand behind investigation; it will reveal the truth!"
Kendrick: Kendrick sighs. "I just don't know if it's enough... maybe if we talked to Mhyria..."
Storyteller: As if on cue, Mhyria steps into the room, followed by Tatjana.
Storyteller: (Okay, we have to stop for a few minutes. I have to run over to the bathroom, really quick. BRB.)
Kendrick: (LOL! okay...)
Jalda: ((I love not being the only one who has to do that
Kendrick: (Women... :))
Jalda: ((shut up
Jalda: mmm, cookies
Kendrick: (LOL! Just saying women... I didn't say anything bad, did I? Nope...)
Kendrick: (And while she's gone, I'm going to make myself some chocolate milk.)
Storyteller: (Okay, I'm back.)
Jalda: (yay!
Storyteller: (And it wouldn't normally be a problem but I'm at a computer lab at school and the nearest
bathroom is halfway out of the building, six classrooms down. *sigh*)
Jalda: (ech
Kendrick: (What fun...)
Storyteller: (Uh-huh. And I hate it when people are able to step into their kitchens and make stuff because it
only reminds me that I'm not allowed to eat or drink in the same room as the computers.... *g*)
Storyteller: Once again, as if on cue, Mhyria steps into the room, followed by Tatjana. And Kendrick, you
note that Ariel is no longer on the floor in front of the Balefire.
Kendrick: (Bah. Stupid computer labs.)
Storyteller: (My sentiments exactly.)
Storyteller: (Arrggghh!! Aria. Not Ariel.)
Storyteller: (Ariel is her human name. Grrrrrr...)
Storyteller: (Where the hell did I get that from!??)
Kendrick: Kendrick notes that, then turns to Tatjana and Mhyria with a very charming smile.
Kendrick: (I haven't the slightest. Calm down. :))
Storyteller: They both smile back and head over to you...
Jalda: Jalda just slams her head back down on the table and mutters something about finding charging into the
fray far more enjoyable than skulking around to gather information.
Jalda: ((OOOOOOWWWWW!
Jalda: ((I just popped my finger badly... pain... damn...
Storyteller: Merlin leaps onto the table and pads over to Joe, curling up on Joe's chest. Joe grins and pets
him, not really listening to the conversation at hand...
Storyteller: (Poor Kas!!! You okay?!?!)
Kendrick: Kendrick holds his arms out to Tatjana. "There you are," he growls playfully.
Jalda: (no, i'm going to be typing really slow due to pain in my right index,,,
Storyteller: She sits in your lap with a grin, sliding an arm around your neck. "Yup. In all my glory..." she
purrs, kissing you lightly. Mhyria stands next to the table.
Kendrick: (Ouch... I'm so sorry, I know how that feels...)
Kendrick: He kisses her back, then says softly, "We have to talk later." In his eyes is deep pain, but he doesn't
want to discuss it now. There are more important things to attend to. To Mhyria, he says, "What do we really know
of Meilge?"
Storyteller: Mhyria thinks about the question. "Not all that much, actually," she says. "All we know is that the
High King went with Meilge to have an important message and that when Meilge reappeared shortly after, he was
without the High King. And the High King hasn't been seen from since."
Storyteller: "That and I find it quite coincidental that the High King disappeared at the Ball... which was held
at Meilge's home..."
Storyteller: replies Tatjana.
Kendrick: "Is that good enough reason to confront Meilge about what's going on?" Kendrick asks.
Storyteller: Mhyria shakes her head sadly. "It is all coincidences. There is no proof. The only way to prove it
is to return the High King to his... previous state, so he can tell us what happened."
Kendrick: He glances at Jalda with a smile. "A couple fae tried to take Joe from us. Meilge seems to want him
pretty badly."
Storyteller: Mhyria raises an eyebrow and glances at Jalda. "You saw Meilge?"
Jalda: ((sorry, getting ice for finger
Storyteller: (No prob.)
Jalda: "Yes, , no, kind of. I saw a man in a mask and cloak. Two other fae called him Meilge."
Storyteller: Mhyria nods. "Very interesting. Well, Tatjana spoke to me about you joining our Oathcircle."
Kendrick: Kendrick glances at the window, then does a double-take. "There they are!!" He leaps up, trying not
to spill Tatjana onto the floor.
Storyteller: Tatjana does spill onto the floor but gets up and goes after you.
Kendrick: "The two fae after Joe!" he calls out to Mhyria and Jalda, hand on the hilt of his sword as he rushes
out.
Storyteller: They're gone. There is no one around
Storyteller: .
Storyteller: Mhyria stands in the street, looking around. "Where are they, Kendrick?"
Kendrick: He searches for them, walking in the direction they were heading in.
Kendrick: (Walking quickly, I might add.)
Storyteller: You see no one. Everyone has piled out of the Inn with you, looking around confused.
Jalda: ((aw crap
Jalda: Jalda grabs Oak Reaver and bolts outside, standing silent, listening at the door to the inn.
Kendrick: He turns to Jalda as soon as she steps out. "Don't leave Joe alone!"
Jalda: Jalda frowns and walks back inside, muttering to herself about door guarding not being good enough.
She's having a hard time grasping the concept that Joe, the totally unaware mortal, is really the HIgh King.
Storyteller: When you step inside, you see the two fae sitting at the table with Joe, chatting companionably...
Kendrick: When Kendrick is absolutely convinced the fae aren't on the street, he heads back into the freehold
with a scowl. He knows he saw them...

Jalda: Jalda brings Oak Reaver up in a war pose and runs towards the Sluagh screaming, "May death dance
with thee aimiably."
Jalda: er, !
Jalda: ((mmm, finger feels much better now
Storyteller: A large red claw plucks you off the ground and holds you there. The dragon has grown to the size
of a small elephant. "You ignore my ruling..." the dragon thunders. "Bring no violence within!!"
Storyteller: Everyone follows Kendrick back to the freehold, very confused.
Jalda: "They harm the High King! Let me go!" Jalda screams, dropping Oak Reaver and kicking.
Kendrick: Kendrick spots the two fae with Joe and strides over to them, his eyes burning with hatred. One
good thing about meeting with this father: Kendrick can channel all that into a major ass-kicking if necessary...
Storyteller: The dragon's large snout is inches from you, his red eyes blazing. "I do not care, little troll. This is
my domain and I demand peace..." he growls, his voice echoing in the tavern. The dragon plucks Kendrick off the
ground as well, holding him there...
Storyteller: The two fae turn at all the commotion, see the dragon and run, scrambling out the same window
they came in by.
Storyteller: (Er, scratch that last bit.)
Jalda: "You don't care? You DON'T CARE! IF HE DIES YOU'LL DIE TOO, YOU FILTHY BEAST! LET
ME GO! LET ME GO! I HAVE TO GO AFTER THEM!" anger clouds Jalda's better judgement and she begins to
slip into the trollish rage that has made her kind so famous.
Jalda: ((uh, okay, then cahnge
Jalda: (("i have to go after them" to "I HAVE TO GET THEM!"
Kendrick: "Damn it, we're not the ones you should be worried about!" He points at the fae. "Those two are our
only hope of finding out the truth about High King David!!"
Storyteller: The dragon gazes at both of you. "They are sitting and talking peaceably, not running around with
swords and such. They follow my command. If you do not obey my edict of peace, you will not be permitted
within..." The dragon rumbles.
Jalda: The rage totally overcomes Jalda and she begins wrestling with all her trollish might. Her golden eyes
blaze with fire and her glasses are sent flying across the room, shattering against a far wall.
Kendrick: He growls, then says, "They mean harm that goes beyond physical violence. If you don't let us go, the
consequences will be on your head."

Jalda: ((Uhm
Jalda: ((question!
Jalda: ((can cantrips be cast when in a rage?
Storyteller: (Yes.)
Storyteller: (No.)
Storyteller: (No.)
Storyteller: (Sorry.))
Jalda: ((Mmkay
Storyteller: (Tell me you both got that novel I just sent.)
Kendrick: (Novel?)
Jalda: ((uhm
Jalda: ((no
Storyteller: (Shit. Hang on. Don't reply til I let you know I'm done.)
Jalda: ((mmkay
Storyteller: The dragon is holding you by the back of your clothing, so Jalda can wrestle with nothing but
empty air.
Storyteller: The dragon turns his attention to Kendrick. "Your words are well-spoke and I taste the truth in
them. My edict of peace will remain within, but I will remove the two fae that you may have your... discussion
elsewhere."
Storyteller: The dragon turns his attention to the two fae, who squeak to have attracted the elephant-sized
dragon's attention. They scramble out the same window they came in by and the dragon sets you both down.
Storyteller: (Okay, go ahead.0
Kendrick: Kendrick nods. "Thank you, dragon." He bolts after the fae.
Storyteller: (Hands hurt...)
Jalda: Jalda grabs Oak Reaver and launches herself out the window, following the fae.
Storyteller: The fae are well on their way down the streets, fleeing madly.
Kendrick: Kendrick grins in determination. He pours on the speed...
Jalda: Jalda runs after them as far as her Yamaha, jumping onto the vehicle and reving it up ((I'm assuming she parked it in a
nearby space)). She roars after the two miscreants
Storyteller: You both gain ground quickly... you both are so close, you can almost touch them...
Jalda: ((Oh damn
Kendrick: Kendrick pulls Revelry and slashes at their feet.
Jalda: Jalda pulls Oak Reaver back and launches it at the Sluagh's kneecaps, hoping to break them from behind.
Storyteller: They both tumble to the ground... and vanish.
Kendrick: Kendrick frowns in confusion. "What the..."
Jalda: Jalda passes the spot they dissapeared at and pulls the motorcycle to a screeching halt, the anger rushig away as quickly
as it came. The sight of the enemies must have caused most of it.
Storyteller: They are gone. As if they had never been. You hear a deep menecing laugh echo in the air around you...
Kendrick: Kendrick whirls, searching for the source.
Storyteller: None. It floats around you, growing louder and louder.
Jalda: "WHEN THE SHADOWS OF DARKNESS LAY UPON YOUR SOUL YOU SHALL KNOW THE MEANING
OF BANALITY, MEILGE!" Jalda screams in the air.
Kendrick: "Show yourself, wherever you are... or are you too cowardly?" he shouts into the air.
Jalda: ((I'm going to have to go soon))
Storyteller: (Me too. Don't worry. Five minutes.)
Storyteller: The laugh grows louder and louder, then slowly fades to silence.
Kendrick: Kendrick curses, sheathing his sword.
Jalda: ((damn, sorry, we'll have to cut it here
Storyteller: (Okay. Good 'nuff place to stop anyways. See ya!)
