Minotaurs (men-OH-tors) Created by: MystWalker - mystwalker@amethystalliance.com The Satyrs claim that this Kith is merely an offshoot of their own, but no Minotaur will ever willingly agree with it. The Minotaurs are untamed beasts of strength and stamina, truely the most powerful of all the Kithain. While most would insist that these Changelings are too clumsey to be let into a freehold, they quickly change their minds after being jostled a bit. Minotaurs are well known for their brutish mannerisms and generally low intellect, however what most fail to realize is that they are incredibly perceptive. No one can put anything over on a Minotaur, no matter how skilled they are. As a result of this and their physical prowess, Minotaurs usually get what they want. The life of a Minotaur is carefree and accedent prone. Due to the Curse of the Bull these Kithain must be constantly wary of their actions for fear of hurting someone. However, despite this setback, most Mintaurs enjoy fullfilling lifestyles that lean towards physical activity as an occupation. Many famous football stars are of Minotaur descent, as well as hockey players and wrestlers. Of course, they are more like their Satyr cousins than any would care to admit. Carnal pleasures are quite appealing to the Minotaur, however they don't take the same path as their more suave relatives. If a Minotaur wants someone, she goes after them in a straight line, caring little for what she might leave in her wake. Of course, you'll never hear anyone complain, considering the stamina these Fae have... Extremely likable, dispite their clumsy ways, Minotaurs are the very best companions to have along on long, lonely quests. Though not talkative, they listen quite well, and have the great honor of being considered the most trustworthy of any Kithain. Minotaurs will never reveal a secret, it is beyond them to do so. Why this is so is a matter of some debate among their kind, but that is a topic for another time. Despite this aversion towards revealing another's secret, they are nothing when compared to the honorable Trolls. However, they do have the occasional sparring match with the other Kith, and it's usually the Minotaurs who win (or so they'd have one believe). The honor of a Minotaur means little to nothing to them. If someone pisses them off, they act on their urges to flatten them into pancakes. Primal drives are far more important to them than petty intellectual restraints. Appearance: Minotaurs are broad and muscular, with the head and legs of a bovine and the torso of a human. Their hair grows to different lengths, depending upon lineage, but generally it stays short and stubbly. Their human torso is well tanned, no matter what time of year it is, and their fur ranges from black to brown to white in shade. Female Minotaurs look much like their male counterparts, save the fact that they are smaller, generally less muscular and have no horns. Lifestyle: Athletics are common among the Minotaur, and generally speaking if a Minotaur isn't into a sport, he's got something wrong with him. But, just like their Satyr kin, they have a definate soft spot for liquor of any kind and you can generally find a Minotaur at the local pub if he's not at the local gym. *Childling Minotaurs are known as "calves." Learning the meaning of fair play, hard work and the importance of physical expertise are all these Changelings care about. The male calves have two nobby horns jutting out from behind their ears. *Wilder Minotaurs are the archetype of highschool sportsmen. Play ball today, drink well tonight for tomorrow it will rain. These Changelings are known for their tendancy to have one night stands and end up with missing teeth before the end of the evening. The horns of a Bull (the male Minotaur) generally reach five inches at this age. *Grump Minotaurs are sour remnants of what they used to be. Constantly schooling the young in the ways of fair play, these Changelings tend to get on everyone's nerves once and awhile. A Cow's (the female Minotaur) grumblings can last for hours at this age, and if you dare walk away from her while she's reciting them she'll assail you with yet another hour of berating comments. Affinity: Fae Birthrights: *The Gift of Godly Strength is the pride and joy of this Kith. As a result of this birthright a Minotaur may speed up her adrenaline flow once per day, raising her Strength score two dots for a period of ten minutes per dot she already has in Strength. *The Minotaurs also share the birthright of Physical Prowess with the Satyrs. It works the same way, nothing's changed. Frailties: *The Curse of the Bull limits the number of dots a Minotaur can have in Dexterity to one. Also, all difficulties requiring the use of the dexterity skill are increased by two. As a result of this curse, no Minotaur may ever be able to dance, and as stupid as it sounds, it hurts their pride more than they'd care to admit. Quote: Two out of three? On Boggans - They're too small, be careful where you step. On Eshu - They have the nicest stories, but they can't toss a football worth shit. On Nockers - Punch them and get it over with. On Pooka - Think Nockers, only a LOT worse. Kick 'em in the shins if they get too annoying. On Redcaps - Formidable fighers, nasty people. On Satyrs - Be careful or they might make you try to dance. On Sidhe - As pretty as they are they don't understand the meaning of labor. On Sluagh - They're nice folk, a bit quiet and terribly undernurished, but nice enough to leave alone. On Trolls - We can kick their asses, but their honor is too strict for them to agree to a tussle very often.
