The Biscuits | Jaron - Paladin 6th Level (PC) Rheaphlyndar - Thief 8th Level (PC) Dollin - Druid 6th Level (PC) Wed - Mage 5th Level (NPC) Little John - Fighter 6th Level (NPC) |
Locale | East of Greyhawk |
Date | 2nd day of Richfest, 585 CY (Common Year) |
Time | morning |
The morning was bright and hot. Most of the Biscuits set out from the Free City of Greyhawk after the first night of Richfest.
Most of the group had new clothes, repaired and cleaned equipment, and it was clear they were ready for a long quest. As they rode along, they chatted amongst themselves.
Wed | Great party last night! |
Rheaphlyndar | (rubbing his head) Yeah, don't remind me. |
Dollin | I'll bet you're glad to be away from the books. |
Wed | Not really, but I wouldn't want to let you guys down. |
Dollin | Right. You never know when we might need a well placed magic missile. |
Jaron | . . . or an illusionary warrior. |
Wed | Hey, I've got some quality attack spells now. |
Rheaphlyndar | Just watch your "quality attack spells" in the caves outside Irongate. |
Little John | He said it. |
Dollin | For that matter, you should also be careful in the Gnatmarsh. Swamp gas can be highly flammable. |
Jaron | Say, anything special to impart about that place? |
Dollin | Only that the gnats are thickest in mid-summer. Doh! |
The Biscuits | Gimar - Fighter 8th Level (PC) Nicola - Cleric 6th Level (PC) Yodavan - Mage/Cleric 1st/1st (PC) |
Locale | Northeast of Northbank |
Date | 3rd day of Richfest, 585 CY (Common Year) |
Time | morning |
Gimar and Nicola rode from Northbank with the newest, littlest Biscuit; Yodavan, the forest gnome.
Gimar's estate was now being safely managed by his new hireling, who had fixed them up with some fresh iron rations for the road. Cautious to the last, the dwarven warrior had said only that they were headed east to the Great Kingdom.
Yodavan | I am very pleased you allowed me to come along. |
Gimar | An extra mage couldn't hurt, that's for sure. |
Nicola | I guess that makes me the tall one of this party. |
Gimar | Okay by me, the Demons might attack from the air. |
Yodavan | Demons? Of these I was told not. |
Gimar | (chuckling) I'm sure our wounded Vrock is long gone. Don't you worry about a thing -- I promised Prudence I'd take care of you. |
Nicola | That was quite a party back there. Good choice with the ale. |
Gimar | (beaming) Banthor's Best makes quite a party. Say, isn't that Prudence's old ring? |
Yodavan | Yes, gave it to me she did. (slowing) She hoped it would bring us good luck. |
Nicola | We'll probably need some of that -- the toughest part of our journey is ahead of us. |
Gimar | Sounds like you've been doing your homework. |
Nicola | Except for Dollin, none of the Biscuits have been that far east, and Corin had a few ideas for us. |
Gimar | (smiling) Well it's a good thing for all of us. What's next on the itinerary? |
Nicola | We're meeting the rest of the party in the little town of Diamond Lake. It's a mining community. |
Gimar | There are a lot of those in the Cairn Hills. |
The Biscuits | Thrommel - Paladin (NPC) |
Locale | Near Chendl |
Date | 4th day of Richfest, 585 CY (Common Year) |
Time | midnight |
It was midsummer's night, and the twin full moons were nearly obscured by the thick clouds traversing the sky. Below, on a barren hilltop, the Paladin Prince battled great evil -- and was losing.
Fiend | Come closer! |
Thrommel | I'm close enough. Thank you anyway. The stench of your foul breath is more than my stomach can stand! |
As Thrommel dueled with the malevolent entity, he thought sadly of the people of his kingdom, first battered by war and then blasted by demons and devils. The foul spawn of evil struck him again, smashing his shield and bringing the scion of good to his knees.
Fiend | Now shall you deal with ME, o Prince -- and all the powers of HELL! |
