DESCRIPTION:
Olerathiel stands at a mere four and a half feet tall, average of height and lithe and nimble of build. Her rather plain face, (at least for her House, though she is fairly attractive when not done up in ceremonial garb) is covered in a grey paste, as are her hands during ceremonies and rituals. At all other times she forgoes this affectation, for it is unnecessary, and her goddess will make her into an undead when she is suitable. Her hand are covered in silver rings save the thumbs, the holy symbols of Kiaransalee, and her red eyes glow with a hellish light. She wears a loose black robe with a hooded cowl stitched with bone and ivory, a grey skullcap lying on her shaven head under the cowl. She has no armor on, following the mandates of Kiaransalee, yet she wears the piwafwi common to all drow and a signal whistle tucked between her petite, firm breasts. It is easy to surmise that somewhere near her are undead bodyguards. Her mace is tucked in one side of her belt, a slim dagger that is surely poisoned tucked in the other. It is certain that a garrote is somewhere on her lithe body. She tends to look over any others save members of her House and those that command her disdainfully. When she speaks, her husky voice is as dry as the undead she so loves.
BACKGROUND:
Olerathiel looked at her eldest sister, Kaigodda. So how do you propose we do this, sister? I too, am tired of her bringing dishonor to our family by forcing us to be thieves and assassins, instead of having us focus on necromancy, where we would rule supreme over the other houses.
Kaigodda laughed cruelly. Indeed, I have raised you well, youngest sister. And if all goes well, you will be the first of us to gain the proper knowledge, for in a year will the decision be made of what your training will be. Matron Mother Arireven will never know what has happened to her. And dont worry little one. House SolonnaYsibrylla will be exposed as the Lolth worshippers they are, and will rue the day they tried to take over our places as the finest necromancers this city has ever seen. If any of them survive, of course. The drow woman snickered, a dry and dusty sound. When the time comes, I will tell you what you must do. But none of our other sisters may know this. You are the only one in this family who will be permitted to aid destruction of Arireven and my rise to the position of matron mother. In four nights, we will resume our studies of the skeletons, so that you will not be too far behind when we announce that you will be our Houses first priestess of Kiaransalee.
The sisters nodded and went their separate ways to their bedchambers, going through many of the secret underground tunnels to get there unobserved. Olerathiel smiled to herself happily on the way back. I know! Since we want to take over House SolonnaYsibryllas position as fourth House, and they rule over necromancy right now, I could use the poisoned dagger that is so special to their House, and it could be conveniently left nearby. I could seduce one of their idiot nobles to get the dagger, then blame the death on him, which in turn would have their House wiped out and we would take our rightful place! I hope Kaigodda approves& the young drow girl thought, plotting a way to help her older sister take charge so that they could all get what they wanted. That old hags been in power too long. And once Kaigos in charge, the rest of the family will be able to see what old Aris been doing to us, and they will be able to train their children at the proper Academy! The future priestess drifted off into a light slumber, content with her thoughts of matricide.

In four nights time, the two met in their secret chamber once again. Before the lesson was started, Thiel brought up her idea to her sister. The older of the two looked at her sternly for a moment. You have actually come up with a good idea for someone so young. I am fortunate you do not wish the position of Matron Mother! she said threateningly. Thiel grimaced. Why would I want that? Then I would be too busy overseeing people to be able to turn our foes into my undead servants! Kaigo nodded sternly. Very well. Anambor has been longing for someone from this House. We shall let him think that you have chosen him. You arent much for beauty, but your wit will be enough to enslave a fool like him to your will. Thiel giggled as she licked her lips greedily. I cant wait. Perhaps his body will be given to us to do as we please. He would make such a nice zombie pet. Their scheming done for the moment, the two set about dissecting the body of one of the people Kaigo had picked up in the Brach to do experiments on.

The festival came two months after the sisters had made their plans. Thiel wore her most becoming outfit, but looking at her reflection in the mirror, she scowled. Her sister was right- she was rather plain for a drow in her family. Soon that wont matter though, she thought to herself. Not trusting the slaves with her jewelry, she put on her own rings, the ones she wore to honor her goddess. That fool wont even know what hes gotten himself into.
She walked down the corridor when the house steward rushed up to her. Olerathiel, you have been summoned. The girl scowled at her half-brother. I have important things to attend to. Hurry up! she said imperiously. The drow rushed in front of her, cowering and opening the door. After being announced, she walked in and made the symbol of obeisance to the Matron Mother, kneeling in front of her. I am here, Matron Mother.
I can see that, lack-wit! Now, its time you start concentrating on your studies, for I will be announcing you as a candidate to the Academy soon. Two of your nitwit sisters failed in their attempts to gain information about the third house like they were supposed to do so. I barely managed to save their lives, though I have no idea why I did. You are my last daughter. Fail me as all the others have, and I will kill you, hissed the elderly drow woman.
Thiel nodded. Yes, Matron Mother, was all she said, though she seethed inside. After being dismissed by the Matron Mother of the Fifth House, Thiel walked outside. Grinding her teeth, she kicked and hit any slave foolish enough to come her way. As she walked outside, she smiled, showing off her startling white teeth in such a dark face. Heading off to the celebration, she ran into Anambor. She thought to herself, How fortunate!
She looked him over with an appraising eye. Not bad, really, she thought. Then she smiled at him, a calculating smile bound to make his blood boil. Sure enough, he all but ran over. Might I do something for you, Mistress? he asked hopefully.
She nodded imperiously. You can be my escort for the festival, and perhaps longer, if I decide I like you, she hissed seductively. Anambor hastily bowed to her, wondering how he could be so lucky. Even if she was the sixth daughter, she would still make a nice addition to his House. Besides, if she were as stupid as all of the females of House Gimeth'Diran were believed to be, he could have her destroy her own House, and it would no longer be a threat. As the two walked gracefully to the festival, onlookers had to agree that they made a handsome pair.

The festival came and went, and Olerathiel began to secretly meet Anambor. The male drow began to feel the first stirrings of what passed for love in a drow society, and soon he would have willingly done anything she desired, not even realizing that he had been trapped in the very snare he had hoped to catch her in. After three months, one night Thiel came to him, artfully contrived tears streaming down her face.
He rushed over to her, seeking to comfort her. She looked up, sobbing. "I cannot go to Arach-Tlabbar. I am doomed." He slipped his arm around her. "Anything you want. I'll do it."
Inwardly smiling, she cried, "Kill her! Kill my Matron Mother, and I will kill yours. That way our Houses can be joined and I can become a priestess. We can be together forever." Nodding desperately, he agreed. "Anything to keep you from being so upset! Just tell me when and how." She told him, and they soon parted for the night.

One fateful night a month later, he snuck into the chamber of House GimethDirans Matron Mother and killed her. Olerathiel had conveniently rid the hall of guards by lacing the servants food with sleep poison. He rushed out of the chamber, bloody dagger with his House emblem on it. As he rushed out, the girl began screaming, Kaigodda waiting to wake up the guards and servants.
After a very brief meeting of the Council, it was decided that House SolonnaYsibrylla had committed one of the largest sins of the city- it was responsible for the death of one of the Matron Mothers of the City. Kaigodda gleefully took her position as the new Matron Mother, and demanded the death of the assassin as well as the destruction of his House.
It was quickly done, with several of the nobles and many slaves quickly trading allegiances to the new fourth House. Olerathiel was prepared for her Blooding. She sneered when she saw the surface elf that she had been given. Noting the holy symbol around the neck of the frightened woman she told her, "Pray your god is with you. For you will die a horrible death, and only the mercy of your god will ease your suffering."
