Clerical Magic
PRAYER
A priestess or high priestess may pray for additional spells see spell list for descriptions) or powers (magic points). Prayer requires a minimum of 1 week of undisturbed concentration (in either a house's inner sanctum/temple or the Dark Shrine). The longer the duration of the prayer, the more likely Lloth will grant additional powers to the cleric. The maximum duration for prayer is 4 months (2 turns). When multiple priestesses offer homage to Lloth it is deemed a Ritual.

Individuals can gain magic points and/or spells while the house is out of Lloth's favor - but the odds for success are greatly reduced.
RITUALS
When multiple priestesses or high priestesses join in worship of Lloth, the odds of the prayers being heard are increased. Rituals are used to gain additional spells or powers and also to gain (regain) the favor of Lloth. Rituals require a minimum of 1 month of undisturbed concentration in either a house's inner sanctum/temple or the Dark Shrine). The longer the duration of the ritual, the more likely Lloth with grant additional powers to the clerics (and the houses) involved. The maximum duration for prayer is 1 year (6 turns). The result of a ritual may also be enhanced by sacrifice (and the more personal the better!).

Rituals can be dangerous (deadly) to houses that are out of favor. Sacrifices (typically good creatures, powerful magic, or even nobles) add to the success rate of a Ritual. When a Ritual is commenced, the house may choose which spell or other power it hopes to attain (or just get a random selection).
SUMMONED CREATURES
This chart describes the standard summoning information for a demon or greater undead. If special powers are granted the summoned creature, this will be specified on your turn results. Special powers can be obtained via prayer/ritual or via the Favored Summons spell. All demons/undead can pass through standard defenses, require magic weapons to injure, and are immune to poisons/wards.

SPELLS
Creation
Create Artifact
Only High Priestesses in Lloth's Favor are granted the ability to create artifacts. Typically it takes 6-12 months (and even longer!) to create an artifact worthy of Lloth. Time and magic are not the only things required as powerful sacrifices (the closer to home the better!) are demanded by the Spider Queen in order for the enhancements to succeed. The cost and time varies depending on the request of the Matron Mother.
Minor Conjuration
All priestesses of Lloth can cast Minor Conjuration Spells.
Summon Lesser Demon
This spell allows the caster to summon a number of lesser demons based on the level of the spell. Lesser demons are relatively weak, uncooperative, and very destructive. They are often used as fodder in attacks against other races and for simple search and discovery missions. Level cost: 20 (1 permanent) per demon summoned
Light Shield
The sun of the surface has very damaging effects on the drow magic items forged in the Underdark. For this reason Light Shield was created. This spell will completely protect the receivers from the effects of the sun for 1 day. Drow magic items of the Underdark lose 1 enhancement (+1) per day exposed to direct sunlight. Level cost: 10 per individual
Major Conjuration
Only high priestesses of Lloth can use Major Conjuration spells.
Summon Greater Demon
This spell allows the caster (only high priestesses may cast this spell) to summon a number of greater demons based on the level of the spell. Greater demons are the mightiest of the denizens of the lower planes (minus the princes, queens, and lords). Some greater demons have spell like abilities and most are immune to lesser magic and poisons. Greater demons are best suited for special missions, assassinations, and to lead lesser demons into combat. If somehow bound to the material plane, they become a major asset and often enjoy the chaotic and evil missions they are ordered to perform (however, a greater demon is never entirely loyal to its master and they always attempt to reverse the master-servant situation!). 2 or more high priestesses may combine magic points to summon a more powerful demon. Level cost: 50 (10 permanent) will summon one demon (so 100 could summon 2) or each 50 MPs will summon a more powerful demon (100 MPs would summon a more powerful demon than 50MPs)
Bind Demon
Demons may be conjured, but they return to the lower planes at the end of their stint on the material plane. Bound demons remain until their master orders them back and while bound to the material world, the remain entirely "loyal" to their conjurer. 2 or more high priestesses may combine magic points to bind a more powerful demon (but only one can be the beast's master). Level Cost: 25 (20 permanent) + 10 per demon's level per greater demon, 15 (5 permanent) per lesser demon
Offensive
Drider
A high priestess may conjure the powers of Lloth to transform a drow into a drider (half drow-half giant spider). There is no reversal for this spell, and more often than not, this is a means of punishment. The drider must serve the cleric for a time equal to the clerics level in months. Normally the drider will be slain or sacrificed at the end of its servant period, but on rare occasions the drider will remain to serve its master. Drider that escape vow revenge against all drow (namely the females) and are often hunted by drow patrols. Level cost: 25 per drider (5 permanent)
Dispel Summons
Bound demons may only be set free by their summoner, the death of their summoner, or a dispel summons spell (which send them back to the lower planes). The Dispel Summons spell is not automatic nor does it have a standard MP cost. In order to dispel the bound demon, it requires 1 more MP than the combined Summons and Binding spells. 2 or more high priestesses may combine magic points to dispel a summoned demon. This spell also costs 10 permanent MPs to cast.
