DESCRIPTION:
Chesir is a fairly tall and muscular young drow male. Most would call him handsome, but in a rugged sort of way. His hair is cut very short, and he wears a black Shaurak'Hai military uniform over his chain mail and under his piwafwi.  He carries an arsenal of weapons that include a longsword and dagger on his belt, another dagger in his left boot, a longsword on his back, a light crossbow on his back, a hand crossbow in his cloak, and a bundle of spears under his arm. He always seems to be studying everything.

BACKGROUND:
Chesir of House Shaurak'Hai is a minor noble, the oldest son of the eldest daughter of the matron mother.  Normally such sons could not expect to advance far in drow society, but Chesir's mother and grandmother saw potential in the young male.  As a very young drow Chesir became fascinated with the large army the House maintained.  Rather than study more traditional pursuits of drow nobles, Chesir tagged along with the common drow soldiers and even developed an affinity for the disciplined
orcish slave soldiers.

Chesir's Matron Mother sent him along on a trading mission to one of the other drow city-states in order to test his ability to perform in the field.  Not only did he survive an attack by a rival trading operation, he actually helped to rally the drow and slave-orcs and bring about a victory.  This was of course not so much due to any spectacular battle prowess at such a young age, just the fact that common soldiers take heart when their noble leaders actually take part in the fight as one of them.

Soon after, Chesir enrolled at the academy when he came of proper age.  He distinguished himself by proving quick, tough, and intelligent.  However, he did not always enjoy great popularity among the other noble cadets, as all that time spent among the soldiers had left his mannerisms blunt and his tongue sharp.  His preference for the light crossbow of the infantry soldier over the hand crossbow of a noble also raised some eyebrows.

Fortunately for Chesir, he came to the attention of Amix'am, an instructor at the academy that had come up through the ranks after starting life as a common footsoldier.   Chesir was also lucky enough to surround himself with a few relatively loyal friends who saw in his straightforward nature that he could be relied upon.  With his steps guided by Amix'am and his back guarded by his friends, Chesir graduated and was assigned to a dangerous patrol group.
