Le Morte d'Artur Mallory
The main book. Old style, with many pronouns that sometimes make its reading a bit difficult. Very short stories, sometimes we read about some knight who does something, but not how. You can find it in the links section, FREE!

Marion Zimmer Bradley (1982)
The first book that showed the saga from the female's point of view. An absolute bestseller, in the top 50 for years. Morgaine schemes to try to get Britain back to the old gods, and away from the ever-growing christianity. Gwenhwyfar (Gueneveve) also tries to shape Brittania to her views. In the middle stands Arthur, manipulated by both women. Note: Marion Zimmer Bradley is considered a Feminist writer.

Marion Zimmer Bradley (93)
Originally published as the Forest House. The beginnings of the saga, in the Ist century! A young roman, Gaius, and a young britton, Eilan, fall in love. None of the families likes the idea, as the Boudicca insurgence, on the one hand, and the rape of the Sacred Island of Mona, on the other, are still quite recent.

Marion Zimmer Bradley (1998)
This time the action takes place in the 3rd century. Druids still have their problems, but not with romans, now with those pesty accursed christians... This time we do find some Arthurian characters, like 'good' old merlin.

The War Lord Chronicles(3 volumes) Bernard Cornwell
The story from a realistic point of view. Character's have been changed, for example,
Lancelot is a coward that pays bards to sing his 'greatness', and everyone believes them.
Guenevere Rosalind Miles
Claiming to be the first time her story is told (but that was in Mists of Avalon).
One of the few novels that takes into account the celtic ways of waging war. Highly magical.
